In its most basic form, artificial intelligence is nothing more than just the intelligence possessed by machines. AI programs were adopted by corporations around the world by the 1980’s. By the mid-1980's most corporations adopted different AI programs for knowledge and research purposes, which helped them progress faster in many industries.
Artificial intelligence promises to transform the media and entertainment business – impacting everything from content creation to the consumer experience through techniques such as image recognition, speech-to-text transcription, metadata tagging etc. But one of the main reasons why AI has achieved only a few of its projected targets set in the 20th century is because it is very expensive to implement. In the entertainment and media sector, it is unlikely that AI will completely replace humans, as some jobs are not suitable or ideal for AI to take over.
Statistically though, it has been stated that by 2030, more than 30% jobs in the entertainment industry will be replaced by AI, as they are considered to be more efficient than human beings as margin of errors is significantly lower in AI based technology used in the industry and I believe that there is bound to be some shift in employment owing to technological advancements as always!
