History runs from stitching clothes at home to getting a robot to make the products for you, is this good or bad?
Fashion is a way people nowadays express their uniqueness and individuality. The importance of the fashion and design industry has seen a boom in its growth and also demand. In fact, the fashion industry is one of the largest industries in the world flourishing in many countries with an estimate of 3 trillion dollars per annum.
AI, also known as artificial intelligence, which has grown popular in the last few years, has caught the eye of fashion and design kings and queens all around the world, compelling them to change the way they manufacture and design their products. The fashion industry is utilizing the new world of AI technology to increase efficiency and productivity in manufacturing clothes, bags, and other fashion items. This may be in the form of a machine that stitches clothes or a robot that provides ideas.
AI technology also helps retailers and global brands look at the market share and range of buyers by improving communication between sellers and buyers, giving them knowledge about changes in demand around the world, without the problem of transportation or even man-made surveys. AI also helps analyze and respond to the changes in taste preference amongst consumers. This is the most important advantage of AI that has boosted sales amongst many global brands including Gucci and Louis Vuitton.
Customers are also able to take real images of dresses and match them to products available for sale through shopping apps, along with that it has allowed them to identify and purchase apparel and accessories through a single digital device from the comfort of their homes. Apps also allow buyers to deliver finished products directly to the customer within a few days and thus increase brand loyalty towards the global brands. AI has unfortunately been able to replace man labor thus giving a large scope for unemployment around the
world.
Do you think machines can replace workers?
Do you think this change is towards a better future?
